About this policy
This Privacy Policy describes information collected through our website (the “Site”), how we use and disclose it, and the choices available to you. Our Terms of Use explain the rules for using the Site. This policy does not replace any consent required for a particular use of your information.
Information you provide
Contact requests. When you use our contact form, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and message, including any additional information you choose to include. We also receive information you provide when you correspond with us or submit a request through the Site.
Inspiration boards. You can create private inspiration boards without an account. Boards contain selected products, a board name, and images you choose to upload. Before submission, boards are saved only in your browser through the Site’s cookies, are not stored separately by Floors USA or the website team, and have no visitor identifiers associated with them. When you choose to send a board to the store, we receive its contents and any contact information you provide with that request.
Please upload only images you have permission to use and share. Avoid including sensitive personal information in images, board names, or messages. The Site does not currently accept payments or collect payment-card details. Financing applications take place on an external provider’s website.
Information collected automatically
The Site uses cookies, similar technologies, and website logs to support functionality, measure usage, and evaluate marketing. Information may include browser and device details, pages and products viewed, time spent on pages, interactions with Site features, referral sources, and visit dates and times. Website infrastructure may also process technical information, such as an IP address, to deliver and secure the Site.
We use website analytics, including Google Analytics 4, to measure browser activity and understand overall website performance. We do not send contact-form names, email addresses, messages, or uploaded board images to Google Analytics. Analytics tools may use cookies or similar technologies to distinguish browsers and sessions; this is separate from the inspiration-board feature, which has no visitor identifiers before submission.
We also use advertising and measurement technologies for remarketing, audience matching, and campaign reporting, subject to applicable law and your choices. These technologies may process browser activity and technical identifiers. We use statistical reports to understand trends rather than identify visitors by name.
Cookies and inspiration board storage
Cookies are small files stored on your device. The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for website functionality, saved inspiration boards, analytics, and advertising.
Unsubmitted inspiration boards are saved only through the Site’s cookies in the browser and device you use. They are not available automatically on another device and are not saved elsewhere by Floors USA or the website team. Clearing the Site’s cookies deletes your unsubmitted saved boards and their associated content. You do not need to contact us or submit a deletion request to delete an unsubmitted board.
If you have already sent a board to the store, the submitted information becomes part of your request. Clearing cookies does not delete information already sent to Floors USA; contact contact@floorsusa.com to request deletion of submitted customer information.
You can opt out of optional cookies through the Site’s cookie banner and preference controls and can also manage cookies through your browser. Blocking or clearing cookies used for website features may affect those features, including saving inspiration boards.
How we use information
We use information to respond to questions and requests; review boards you send to the store; provide customer support and information about flooring products and services; operate and improve the Site; understand usage and campaign performance; maintain customer records; and protect the Site against misuse.
We may also use information for email marketing and advertising, subject to applicable law and your consent or preferences where required. We use an email marketing service to deliver communications. You can opt out of marketing at any time by emailing contact@floorsusa.com. For marketing emails sent through Constant Contact, you can also use the unsubscribe link in the email. Opting out of marketing does not prevent us from responding to your request or sending necessary service communications.
We may use information to comply with legal obligations, maintain appropriate business records, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
How information is disclosed
Customer requests and submitted boards. Contact form submissions are captured in WordPress and sent to a Floors USA store distribution email. Submissions also route to our customer relationship management system and FloorZap. Authorized Floors USA personnel and the website development team can access submitted information to support these activities.
Service providers. Providers supporting website hosting and maintenance, customer systems, email marketing, analytics, advertising, and related operations may process information in connection with those services.
Advertising partners. Information about Site usage may be disclosed to advertising platforms for remarketing, audience matching, and measurement, subject to applicable privacy choices. Such information can include identifiers rather than names and may not be fully anonymous.
Floors USA does not sell personal information for money. Advertising disclosures may nevertheless be treated as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under certain privacy laws. Applicable choices depend on the law and the actual tools and data flows in use.
We may also disclose information when required by law or legal process, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or transfer of business assets.
Access from the United States and Canada
Submitted customer information may be accessed, reviewed, or downloaded by authorized personnel and service providers in the United States and Canada. Information accessed or processed in another country may be subject to that country’s laws. The location of the website server does not determine all locations from which information can be accessed.
Information retention
Unsubmitted inspiration boards remain saved only in the Site’s cookies in your browser until you clear those cookies or the browser storage becomes unavailable. They are not retained separately by Floors USA or the website team. Boards sent to the store are handled as submitted customer information.
We retain submitted customer information in WordPress for up to three years from submission, unless a shorter period is required by applicable law or a longer period is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or preserve information relating to a dispute. The website team in Canada handles deletion of WordPress records on our behalf.
Removing a WordPress submission does not automatically delete copies in email inboxes, our CRM, FloorZap, or email marketing systems. Floors USA manages those copies. Customer records in these systems may be retained longer where needed for ongoing customer relationships, service and warranty history, legitimate business recordkeeping, or legal obligations. Retention depends on the record’s purpose and applicable requirements.
We may retain aggregated or deidentified performance reports for historical comparisons and marketing analysis. These reports do not need to include names, email addresses, uploaded images, or messages to show annual lead volume, sales, conversion rates, or campaign performance.
Analytics retention depends on the data type and the settings of analytics and reporting systems. User-level and event-level data can have different retention limits from aggregated reports.
To request review or deletion of information you have submitted, email contact@floorsusa.com. We will coordinate the request across the relevant systems, subject to identity verification and any applicable legal retention requirements.
Your choices and requests
You can opt out of optional cookies through the Site’s preference controls and delete unsubmitted inspiration boards by clearing the Site’s cookies. You can opt out of marketing at any time by emailing contact@floorsusa.com or, for Constant Contact emails, using the unsubscribe link. To ask about submitted information or request access, correction, or deletion, email contact@floorsusa.com.
Depending on applicable law, you may have additional rights concerning your personal information, including rights relating to access, correction, deletion, or certain advertising uses. We may need to verify your identity before responding and will handle requests as required by applicable law. Please do not send sensitive identity documents unless we request them through an appropriate process.
Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for a general audience interested in flooring products and services and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the Site, contact contact@floorsusa.com so we can investigate and take appropriate steps, including deletion where required.
Security
No website, transmission method, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information that is not needed for your request. If you have a concern about information submitted through the Site, contact contact@floorsusa.com.
External websites and services
The Site may link to external services, including financing providers and Google Business Profile reviews. Those services have their own privacy policies and terms. Please review them before providing information.
Future automated chat
An automated chatbot is planned but is not currently available. If introduced, it may collect contact details, messages, and other information you choose to provide, similar to our contact forms. The planned workflow includes review by authorized Floors USA staff and teams in the United States and Canada and eventual connection to customer records in our CRM.
The selected provider’s handling of chat data, including retention and any use for AI training, will be disclosed before activation. You will be able to request deletion of chat records at contact@floorsusa.com, subject to applicable law. We will update this policy and provide any necessary notices and choices before chat collection begins.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the Site or our practices change. The date above identifies the latest published revision. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required by applicable law.
For privacy questions or requests, contact Floors USA at contact@floorsusa.com.
